meh…OFP2 is going to fall down the abyss in my opinion.:o

Anyone of you tried ArmA 2? That is the sequel made by the original developers of OFP.

Its been out for 2 months, it keeps the great good old feeling of OFP, enchanted with much better graphics, more stable engine and new possibilities and not to mention a huge open world going on 400 square kilometres!:w00t:

I’m going to get OFP2, but I know it wont be great or anywhere near OFP1 simply because its not the same devs and Codemasters have never made a wargame before. Even more concerning is that they had the license to make it for like 5 years ago, but they didn’t start production until 1.5 year ago at max…

FOr those who like it super intense lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KK6Fo3Y0AU

…ANd for those who like it a bit less action filled but with high tension of fear and adrenaline: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy_osU-eA8s&feature=channel_page

I have the game and simply love it for its replayability in every mission and what you can get out of 2 minutes with putting a enemy squad vs your squad with waypoints, there you have a dynamic battlefield.

@Stuntman

I was thinking on purchasing Arma 2, but after speaking to a friend I have choosen not to. Ill wait for OF2
The AI’s are just as bad as in Arma 1 when it comes to tracking human players from miles away and through buildings and terrain. Which is quite a turnoff for me :frowning:

I have heard people complaining about the AI, which is understandable, however I have never experienced too big problems, the AI have enver been so downful that it destroys the game:confused:. The only vital annoyance is path finding. Engagement, spotting and pinning however, they are excellent, they are not blind as in ArmA 1 or OFP. As well the game is very focused on Multiplayer with player vs players, which it excels in from any game. I have been participating in stable games with 100 players. Its intense and fun.

Something also to remember is the ArmA 2 devs, BIS, dedication to the community and fixing, patching problems. They excel in what people expect and they keep doing it. I hope OFP2 devs will be the same.

I hope you will buy both games, since I’m quite sure Multiplayer will be much worse in OFP2 and AI the same as ArmA 2 or worse. (OFP2 is limited to max 32 players…)

I will buy OFP2 when it comes out, so I hope I’ll see you on one of the platforms at least.

Starfire, as I understand it the ACE mod fixes that. If I had a PC suitable to run it I’d buy ARMA2 at once, as it is, I have to buy/build a new PC first…

OFP2 does start to look pretty interesting, but not quite OFP1/ARMA that I really like, might simply be me more used to the later.

I think that ofp2 will be like an FPS

I hope you will buy both games

Of course!

I buy all of em

I dont know how you have the time. Most of the games I buy end up sitting on the shelf. Sometimes I feel like Im buying just for the sake of buying. My usual philosphy was to only buy only 3 games a year: tactical FPS, Strategy and maybe a Simulation. I have to start really picking and choosing now.

Im with ya Peace, I feel like I am a “Jack of all trades master of none” I simply have not been giving the time to learn and master a game, nothing seems to hold my interest. I thing I need to sit on the couch and talk this over with my psychiatrist.:smiley:

I don`t know how you have the time. Most of the games I buy end up sitting on the shelf.

But of course, same here. I said I buy them I didn’t say I play them

GTA4 Osprey if you like challenging and hugely immersive almost-adventures with sweeping storylines and the most gorgeous city simulation. I’m about to start it for the fifth time, not finished it yet but it’s not a game that imposes itself on you. It seeps in little by little as you find out how deep everything goes, it’s got real roots in Americana from an Eastern European player-character aspect. And quite a few fruits. One of whom you’ll need to murder in cold blood but never mind that now, and one of whom will help you find yourself redeemable. Are you up for it soldier. Ah yes, 50 quid recruiting bonus in the pipeline I can see it now

Your painter Hopper, that sort of world, interesting day/night cycle

Nice thanks Wildcat!
