Had I not bought a Senheiser PC350 it is very possible that I would have went for those.

IMO when you buy something, buy a brand that specialized in it. Sennheiser has years of expertise on headphones and microphones, so you can expect good sound quallity and durability. Saitek??? no matter how nice it is looking, I have my doubts.

Senheiser was actually a step back to a previous brand I used. I experimented with eDimensional AudioFX but the mic sucks, the sound is not good enough. To heavy on the bass and not enough on the high frequencies.
I got very warm around my ears and the volume was actually broken.

I vent back to Senheizer becourse of the quality of the mic and the sound. The PC350 is quite expensive but just as the last model I owned the quality of the mic and the sound are second to none.

I’m with Pax, it may look the part, and it does that very well, I’m suspicious of the build quality. I use a set of Medusa’s 5:1 with mic at the moment, but would prefer a set of Sennheisers. I have a set of basic Sennheisers, no 5:1 and no mike otherwise I’d use them.

Sennheiser? Good products, bad support. I’ve destroyed an ear cushion of my headset, I’ve asked THREE times at Sennheiser support if it is possible to order some as spare parts and, eventually, how… no answer at all!
For me, nervermore Sennheiser.

You should keep your earhair trimmed…

Sennheiser? What is this?

I use a GREAT headphones set, comfortable, light and durable (each system has an use for up 4 months).
What?

Trust!
4 euro and painful goes away!

When it broken I simply buy another…

i need some new headphones, my zalman 5.1’s have just broke, i was gonna get the medusa’s like you have brigs simply because of the 5.1 which i consider essential for gaming now, but after reading some reviews about them and almost everyone saying they are very poor on bass and treble, and in fact a lot of people saying some good stereo headphones will be better than the 5.1’s i am undecided, should i get some more zalmans, which i liked, comfy, good sound(i think), get the medusa’s, or get a pair of stereo sennheiser??

Had Medusa 5.1’s for a while now, but have had to have them repaired twice now as internal wiring has kept coming away, so my enthusiasm for them has dwindled slightly!

I’m with IlPesca.

I use a GREAT headphones set, comfortable, light and durable

It looks like my Philips gear. Other advantages: It doesn’t warm up your ears, reasonably cheap -mine were 12 euro’s  , but I have them for more than a year now :)- and you still can hear the misses’. But this last feature can be good or bad depending on a variety of variables ;).

whats your opinion on them trooper??, i have read that they are very poor for music and movies, which aint a problem as i have a proper set of 5.1 speakers for that job, i would only be using these for gaming but i still need them to sound good and do the job, why should i have inferior sound just so the missus can hear peggy mitchell kick someone out of the vic on eastenders?

Well…this time I bought Italian!!

:anpeace:

I’ve got the older analogue Medusa’s, had them for around 2 years and they’re still going strong. I got them before the USB version turned up and I saw some not so encouraging reviews on those. They look the same as mine other than the fact they’re USB but the sound was suopposedly a lot poorer.
the version I use have good sound IMO, bearing in mind I went from some Sennheisers to these Medusas. I would say the only thing negative i can say about them is that they are rather heavy and the connections and seperate “sound box” is bulky and untidy looking.
As I say, I’ve had them 2 years now and they’ve done their job. But I am looking to replace them is a set of 5:1’s that are light, have a mike and are USB. Not easy to find a good set like that

whats your opinion of 5.1 or stereo brigs, for say, il2? going from the sennheiser stereo to the 5.1’s?

bought some sennheiser 515’s today, and they are excellent, every thing just sounds so good, miles better than my zalmans which i thought were quite good too, the bass sounds very deep and undistorted, and the treble is very crisp, they also work well in il2 offering some good 3d positional audio…pleased:D

I only have one issue with my Italian-made headgear: everytime I use it with TS, I hear an annoying background noise, much disturbing my (already crappy) IL-2 flying…

…it sounds like a bunch of madmen chatting uninterruptedly in a weird Jock accent…
