You should have gone out to the new part of the Air and Space Museum, out by Dulles.
It utterly dwarves the exhibit at the mall, and espesially the space section is amazing. I went there… 2 years ago? But didn’t have my camera with me unfortunately.
@ Phil: yes, all autentic stuff, often re-painted and well conserved as they would be brand new 
@ Maddog: I was there beginning of March. Unfortunately I was not at Dulles museum, due to limited time available, and my wife’s sickness about military memorials and planes after visiting Intrepid, Smithsonian Air and Space, WW2 Memorial, Korea Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington Military Cemetery. So we went shopping instead of Dulles.
