Microsoft Issues Emergency Security Patch For IE

Microsoft will issue an emergency security patch Wednesday for all versions of Internet Explorer. The patch is considered a critical fix for the security flaw currently plaguing the IE browser. So far, more than 2 million computers are believed to have been infected.

Do people still use IE

Do people still use IE

This security update is rated Critical for all supported editions of Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and rated Important for all supported editions of Windows Vista

Do people still run XP?

Forgot to say thanks for the heads-up Magpie, sounds scary as I’m using IE at work and home

It’s an ironic universe, and one must think carefully before taking a course of action that may find one encountering the very thing that one is afraid of… <sinister cellos>

Do people still fly IL-2
or cook with naturalgas
Drive Morris Mini

BTW: To many public webservices don’t work correctly with other browser. So I choose to live with the devil I know and keep administration down.

The question should be “Why do people use IE?”

Sadly we all have to for windows updates etc, other than that I pretty much exclusively use Google Chrome these days.

Newish patch out for Chrome…is it still beta?

Still beta, the odd bug - but most browsers do.

Considerably better than other browsers despite being beta imo

Sorry, NOT beta… just found this:

Well IMHO Firefox suits me best due to its lovely variety of plugins and language dictionaries!

Its much faster than IE too, which stalls and hangs up every time I tab or exit “too quickly” lol:p

Somehow I have never have those problems with IE. But from time to time I have had to change my DNS servers in order to speed up the loadtime of the pages.

I seem to remember that Windows ME worked just the same. On some machine it worked flawlessly and on others it never became stable

It is all a question of taste. I am just glad I know that I have the option to choose something else if I need to
