Hi res photos from Dallachy Strike Wing

I was very pleased to receive an email from Gerry Mullen whose father, S/L William Mullen, was the Ops Officer at Dallachy when the Beaufighters of 455 Squadron were carrying out strikes over Norway.

He had watched my 455 Squadron movie, and offered to share some of his father’s personal photograph collection. It was my honour to take these and share them on a weblog in the hope that many others will have the chance to remember the contribution by those at RAF Dallachy:

It must have been terrifying to get attacked from the air when you’re on a boat.

Superb pictures, Joe! That blog was awesome as well. They were really brave and did some good stuff at the north sea.

Fantastic pictures Joe, thankyou very much for sharing and a special thanks to Gerry Mullen

Thanks Joe!

Anyone interested in the Coastal Command war must get ‘A Seperate Little War’… It’s a must have read. It covers all aspects of the Sqns at Dallachy and Banf with many first hand accounts. A superb book!

Bella Joe Grazie!
