Hi Guys I’ve just upgraded my pc as i start Uni tomorrow and wanted to get a fast pc rather than a laptop to work on at Uni.
For test perposes I was wondering what is the installation process now including necessary patches required? I remember doing IL2 then FB then AEP and now theres a new 1946 with patches?

We now fly loads more inter Squadron stuff which is fun. Currently in Africa against your mob.
1946 is all I remember installing, check out the AAA site for the sound and plane mods…Mk1 Spits and 6DOF (plus tons more), all sounding wonderful.

Hiya Sterling mate, how they hanging?
1946 should be all you need plus patches but I can’t remember whats what - I think 4.08 is all you need to get from 46 to the current latest.
The mods add another dimension to the game. Get the unified installer from the AAA site and you can switch between stock 4.08/4.09 modded and un modded.
The basis of the mod are the new sounds - awesome. But there are also new maps, a/c and of course TrackIR 6DOF which is fantastic.
If you’re just getting back into IL2 again you’re in for a great journey over the next few days and weeks!

Well seven months have pasted and IL2 1946 arrived today through my door.
I have updated to 4.08m now.
Need to know what version and files I require. I have backed up my 4.08m game folder.
I am in the process of downloading 4.09b1m and the skins pack for that.
I am also downloading the AAA unified mod pack installer thingy, there is eight seperate downloads so will probably take all day to do this.
Once I have all the files though should I install the 4.09b1m? or will the AAA pack not work then? Or should I just install the AAA mod pack over standard 4.08m installation?
Can’t wait to get it all setup.
