The first communication EAF

The use of Roger Wilco is top priority during our training sessions. We recognized, that some trainees have problems using Roger Wilco (RW), so I will try to help you with this and give you some instructions. Feel free to ask, if you need further help.

Download Roger Wilco for free at this site http://www.resounding.com/

Configure Roger Wilco

-Use under Transmit the press to talk mode and choose a button. A good choice is the delete button on your keyboard.
-Go to adjust and than to configure and make sure you have choosen the following settings:

  • use direct sound recording
  • choose your current audio device
  • mark automatically select mike
  • press verify settings and check the play control settings of your soundcard.The microphone must be properly marked
  • for use and the setting should be adjust to about 75%. Test the mike by adjusting the mike input level.
  • (Mine works good at about 75%)
  • go to next and mark full duplex.
  • go to next and adjust properly and mark Use RW at high CPU priority

Hint 1
YOUR SOUNDCARD MUST BE A FULL DUPLEX CARD. Check that.
My soundcard (Terratec Base 2 PCI) didn´t work with RW, though it was a full duplex card. I couldn`t configure
it to work fine. I always had disturbs with it. I had no choice and purchased a new card. If you are thinking about a new card, I highly recommend the Soundblaster 1024 Player…or the soundblaster live cards!!

Hint 2
Use a Headset and not a seperate micro. A cheap one does it, but it should be stereo.

My first attempt to online flyng was in late 2001 on the Zone with EAW.
A day I meet someone that told me about EAF (I can’t be able to remember who) and I sgned me up on 9th september 2001. But I leave my house for six month for aa another flat and I could connect online only in february 2002.
When I took my wings (Max, Italo an Nepe were my T/O) I enthusiast went to bed, and said my wife: “I take the wings!”, she turn his head other side and told: “Shhh, I want to sleep!”:eek::roflmao:

Now EAF is a real family for me.

Anyway, had a good time tonight flying with the rest of you that showed up, bit of a flashback back in times when we flew with other (and some same) 322 pilots. But now I’m off to bed, fewer calling. :rolleyes:
