TrackIR4 is so good that i find moving my head around in REAL LIFE IS DISAPPOINTING!!!
If you plan to continue playing IL2 longterm, you want added immersion, improve your situational awareness and make the game generally easier i would say yes.
The added benefit is Track IR is useable on games like MS Flightsim, ArmA and GTR GT Legends and many more.
So i would say Yes.

yes indeed, track ir is awesome and worth getting 100%, makes the game seem all the more real and it dont take long for it to feel natural, in fact when i play a game without track ir i find myself moving my head and wonder why my track ir aint working, even do it when watching tv sometimes
And with the 6DoF mod its moved on again, leaning to see past pillars and down the nose for landing, great addition
