4.10 Guide

Its PDF file

Looks nice…

Anyone err… been brave and installed it over UP2.0 yet? Does it play nice with Mods or do we wait for the Ultrapack folks to update the .exe?

The mods are to follow soon as I understand it Flash.
The game has some nice features as in the multi-throttle application and 4 joystick profiles in the controls/hardware section, additional difficulty settings and an incredibly fast loading time.
Unfortunately the Spit has fallen from grace a bit.Be prepared to lose a wing in high speed turns/dives,engine power loss in neg G (even with MkV’s) and a big drop in roll rate over 200mph.

According to warclouds http://www.war-clouds.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=59192 , the patch are allready released

Question to EAF HQ!

  • Will this change our official version?

Mmmm, YES!

But don’t go upgrading until we know how to handle compability with mods.

Hello Mikke,
no problem for Mods, you just do the update for the UP & Restore 2.01 and you’re done.

Voss

I can confirm that. Spit-drivers beware!

Pilots flying fighters with bombs should take note as well. Doing dogfight with external ordenance still attached are not a good idear!!! G-stress will rip of important parts of the plane; Like wings and the entire tail

Ordenance have a two second safty fuse attached. This starts counting when the bomb are dropped. I have missed several test targets due to this.

Seems like another patch on the way to fix bugs

A lot of people seem to have a lot of criticism for this patch on other forums

Seems to me that, though there are many little things to patch, most notably the bad Bk37 in Bf110, most of the people is happy with 4.10.

Certainly for me is a big step ahead.

Yes have to agree with you Nepe

I like flying the Spit even more now but I find I have to trim her down more to keep it level

Skip bombing still possible but harder to achieve

AI act different or is it just me:confused:

Will be better when the modders get everything in UP sorted like 6DOF

Stevie

yeah, 6DOF is what is miss the most

and what differences did you notice with the Spit handling?

As always, there are things I don’t like with changes and things I miss.

I still miss the selfsealingfueltanks in the Mosquito and the fireextinguisher in the Bf110G-2 and a random change in the Ki84’s reliability and equipment based on the mission year.
But the pro’s far exceed the cons.
The Hs129 are a real work of art, excellent cockpit. The Ju88 finally got some good and realistic looking airscrews.
and these are just a few of them

Salute

The main differences on the spit handling that I found is it will over rev a lot easier in a dive and you need to throttle back a lot sooner or lower prop pitch than 4.09, obviously you dont want to cook the engine to quickly:eek:

Also if you give it negative Gs you get a puff of smoke from the exhausts (a nice touch) but it is easier to correct without engine cut out

It also seems to turn easier with nuetral trim i.e if you bank over 90 degrees it seems to turn tighter with no pull on the stick

Plus the add of g force damage in a diving turn
i.e. wheels falling off or even wings breaking

All this adds more immersion to the game which I enjoy

Stevie

Is it me

When I looked at the updated RAF Sqd list (in 4.10) I found EAF with our creast
When I check against 4.09 I did not seem to find our creast.

I this a new feature ?

I so I think we owe someone a beer

Hmm, think we’ve been there before, when flying RAF in a DF, but then again I added all EAF squadrons manually a long, long, time ago.

I believe EAF squad has been there for many years. I have flown many times with code EA-N

About the Spit I havent noticed much change due to G’s control, but thats probably because my style of flying seldom takes me to high G’s

We were here before Oleg
